Be directly employed as a Support Worker

A little bit about us

Due to the unique nature of our model, we don’t employ Support Workers.

We are Australia’s first and only Direct Employ service for people with disability and their familes.

In 2011, pre-dating the NDIS, our founder Jane Morrell was unable to accept the lack of true options available for people with disability. So she set about finding a better option – and that is how Carer Solutions was born.

How to become a Support Worker through our Direct Employ service

  1. You need to find someone who would like you to be their Support Worker.
  2. We will then work with them to onboard you officially as their employee, making sure you meet all the compliance checks.
  3. You and your employer agree on a suitable pay rate and determine your shifts.
  1. Once you’re ready, you simply submit your timesheets via our online Portal, your employer approves, and we take care of the rest!
  2. This includes all the admin, including payroll (pay, super, tax), as well as Work Cover insurance.
  • If you don’t currently have an NDIS participant to support, here are some tips on ways to build connections;

    • Join local Facebook groups
    • Reach out to your community on social media promoting yourself
    • Introduce yourself to local Support Coordinators
    • Connect with local disability support groups

The benefits of being directly employed

Perhaps you’re currently working with a Participant, but you’re not completely happy with who you’re employed by. Or maybe you’ve been working as an Independent Support Worker and you’re tired of managing all the time-consuming admin. The good news is, our service provides you with a unique solution. 

Agree on pay rates

You can agree on better rates of pay with your employer. In many cases, Support Workers employed by our Partners (Clients) are being paid higher rates than agency workers.

No need for an ABN

Unlike Independent Support Workers, with our service there’s no need for you to have an ABN.

No boring admin

We take care of all of this for you, so you can focus on providing the support you’re employed to provide! You simply submit fortnightly timesheets for your employer to approve.

If you know an NDIS Participant who you would like to refer to Carer Solutions, you can provide their information and one of our friendly Partnership Managers will be in touch.
