ChatAbility Episode 1: Disability Inclusion

ChatAbility is a platform for our community to engage in meaningful conversations that are important to people living with disability.

We were so excited to launch our pilot episode of ChatAbility in South Melbourne on Friday 10th June. Hosted by Carer Solutions Founder and CEO Jane Morrell, the TV-style panel program explored the topic of Disability Inclusion in front of a live audience.

Jane was joined by four amazing guests who included Dina Bassile, Serene Tan, Kez Glenane and Storm Robbins.

Dina is founder of Tibi Access, a consultancy which has been created to change the landscape of live music, events and venues. She is a wheelchair user, and is a champion of inclusivity with an aim to open up gigs and events to everyone.

Serene is Recreational Program Coordinator at Gymnastics Victoria and is also a carer for her autistic brother.  Her background as a former gymnast and coach means she understands the benefits gymnastics can have for people with disabilities and the importance of creating an inclusive environment in mainstream sport settings.

Kez Glenane has Down Syndrome and is passionate about being able to provide a voice for her community. She has been working at Harris Scarfe for the past 9 years, and says she would like to help people with Down syndrome to get a paid job in the community and live independently.

Storm Robbins is a fierce disability advocate who also has cerebral palsy. He says he is on a mission to change people’s attitudes and perceptions of what a disability looks and feels like.
